Ten Posts in One...What a Week!

I have a bunch to catch up on and I'm going to cram it all in one post! Ok, Monday Mary took Levi, Luke and me out to dinner at Zapata's. She gave him this adorable hat and some outfits for his birthday. The picture doesn't do it justice.

Luke is so in love with books it's crazy. Hopefully his love for books will continue and he will grow up to be a little smartie and become a doctor :) This is one of my new favorite pictures.

He has started to partake in our once a week "Pizza Night in America Night." I pinch off a little piece of bread from my pizza and dip it in marinara sauce and he can not get enough of it!!!

My parents were in town and we all got together at my Memaw's house and she cooked yummy chicken spaghetti for us. Luke, of course, didn't get ANY attention that evening. (haha)

I love this picture also. Luke woke up SUPER early on his birthday (which was Thanksgiving day) and he couldn't wait for us to get up! This is him wallering around on top of us in our bed and watching cartoons while we TRIED to lay in bed for a few more minutes. "GET UP, YA'LL!!!!"

We took our last monthly picture and I seriously teared up while taking it. We both really enjoyed doing this once a month. He enjoyed it because he thought it was funny to watch momma crawl her big booty up on the changing table, lean over him and make funny noises to make him smile.

We went over to Lucas and Laura's and had Thanksgiving lunch. Luke loved the rolls, macaroni, and banana pudding! Then we drug our full bellies home, took a nap, and got ready for BIRTHDAY PRESENT TIME!!!!

I'm so glad this picture turned out. He sat there for MAYBE 4 seconds. Kuddos to Dad for snapping a good one.

And of course we had to take pictures of Dad and the birthday boy..

And Momma and the birthday boy!

We had my family over to our house for Thanksgiving on Saturday. Luke got a new football from Gigi and Pops!

We've been doing a lot of motorcycle ridin' around here. He is one baaaaad dude!

We've also been having a little too much fun with the left over balloons from his birthday party... Static anyone?

Momma gave Luke his last bottle...... That was hard...... Sippy cups from here on out.

We decorated for CHRISTMAS!!!!! Luke loves crawling up to the tree and touching the branches and lights.

Luke had his one year check up on Monday. He's smiling now, but not for long.... That mean ole nurse had to come in a give him shots. But the Doc said he is one healthy little boy :)

Momma made a palet for Boog while he waited for his breakfast this morning. We had whole grain cheerios, half of a banana, and a cup of milk. He did so good eating his big boy food! I love that sleepy face.

Luke's tree got some new batteries and a cool tree topper :)

Today we started our big boy days of only table food (no jars of baby food), whole milk and juice in sippy cups (no bottles), and only one nap (instead of two). We've been easing into it for a while, but we tend to mess up here and there. Today is the day! And so far so good. Fingers crossed.

Happy Birthday, Baby.

I am super depressed today. Why, you ask? My son is turning one tomorrow. Yes, yes, I know I should be happy because I have managed to keep him alive for a whole year (ha), but time's flying by way too fast! I'm super excited about the future and for all the things to come as he grows up, but I just wish he could be a baby baby for a little bit longer :( And yes, I do want to push him down when he tries to walk because that's what big boys do and he's just a baby!
Yall know I'm just being funny, but there is a little truth in all that....
Well, since I've been obsessing over his baby pictures for the last ohhhhhhhhh few weeks or so I figured I'd share a few.

I remember hearing him cry while the doctor was "doctoring me up" and thinking that is the most beautiful sound I've ever heard.

Oh, it's so bright out here! Put me back in!!

Perfection

This was the best moment of my entire life

And this is one proud Daddy

Luke's 1st Birthday Party!

Hi, friends! Luke and I have had a fantastic day so far. (Daddy left early to go to the Cowboy's game.) Luke woke up a tad bit too early for momma so I put him in bed with me and he went back to sleep. We slept until 7:15! (That's late in our house!) He was being a little cuddle buddy so we laid there and watched Mickey Mouse in the bed for about 15 minutes and then he was ready for some grub. Luke had a bottle and some banana baby food and momma had banana puddin' :) Don't hate. We then put together his super cool motorcycle that he got at his birthday party yesterday.

Look at me go!!

One super cool dude

Hey Mom! Need a ride?!?!

His party, by the way, was big fun. Let the picture show begin...............

My family :) These two guys are my world!

Momma and the birthday boy! This is my new favorite picture of the two of us. I love how he put his head up against mine.

Daddy and the birthday boy! HANDSOME!

Presents!!! "Hey, give me back that tissue paper, Mom!"

Yaay! An Arkansas football! This may end up in the trash soon...

Mickey Mouse!

A motorcycle!

He loved this card!! It played a Winnie the Pooh song when he opened it.

Memaw's banana puddin' was a hit! Luke couldn't get enough of it.

The smash cake! He didn't do much smashing though and was not very happy with me that I put his hand in it.

The cousins! Declan, Mabry, Luke and Landry

Time to start planning the next party!!!! Just kidding.... I'm going to invent a time freezing machine before then.

Note To Self: Stay off Google

So sorry it's been a little while since my last post. I've been super busy lately with trying to get ready for Luke's birthday party and Thanksgiving, job hunting, child care hunting, family Christmas pictures, doctor visits, Saturday date with my Love, and re-doing our front yard...(plus all the other daily chores that have to be done and spending quality time with my sugar booger)
BUT you better believe I didn't forget to take pictures!!!!! :D

For those of you who know me, you know how I sit at the table and I think it is hilarious that my son is already starting to copy me.

The toddler picky eating mess has already started to kick in. He can sit there and eat a whole degggum container of puffs or yogurt melts but if I put little pieces of egg or whole wheat toast down, he just pushes it around with his finger. We're workin' on it...

It was absolutely beautiful outside Friday and Saturday. Levi took off work Friday so he was off work 4 days in a row! Loved it. Boog and I helped Daddy work in the front yard Friday. He was not up for pictures though. Too much to look at, Mom!!

Saturday about mid morning I was changing his diaper and noticed a HUGE rash on his tummy. Panicked. I texted my mother in law and my friend and neither one of them knew what it was. (Levi was at the gym during all of this.) It was Luke's nap time so I put him to bed and decided if it got worse or didn't go away soon I would take him to the doctor. Then stupid me decided to look on the Internet to try to figure out what kind of rash it was. STUPID! I about had him diagnosed with Scarlet Fever....
So, stressed out and on the verge of tears, I tip-toed in his room with a flash light every 5 minutes to check on him.

Levi got home, calmed me down, Luke's rash started to go down a little, and then while I was in the shower Levi decided to inform me of something..... Earlier that morning before he left for the gym, he and Luke had been playing in the bedroom. Levi had pulled Luke by his arm on his belly across the carpet and he thinks his shirt must have come up and given him a carpet burn. Holy Moly. This whole time I'm thinking my child is terminally ill and it's a stinkin' carpet burn. ::sigh:: It'll be funny in the future I'm sure.

I then packed Luke up and we headed to Linden so Luke could spend the night with his Mama J and Poppy. (And so Momma and Daddy could go on a date!) We had a great time, of course. We watched a little football at Buffalo Wild Wings (I people watched), then we went to Zapatas, and then went home and hung out on the back porch. As much as I miss Luke when he's not home, it sure is nice to spend some alone time with my Love ;)

Luke went to the doctor this morning and got the final round of his flu shot. He did so good. He cried a little bit and then when I picked him up off the table he shot the nurse a "go to you know where" look. And then he was all better! ha

He's developed a fascination with his tongue all of the sudden.

And some mad xylophone playing skills.

His birthday party is this Saturday and I AM SO EXCITED!!!! and so sad at the same time. My wittle baby is almost one year old. Seems like yesterday he was one WEEK old.

Crazy..
